Tinus de Jongh (1885-1942) was born in Amsterdam, Holland and a self-taught artist painting Amsterdam street scenes. Artist would later emigrate to Cape Town, South Africa with his family in 1921 where his career continued to flourish. Etching depicts Vredenburg, Muldersvlei, Cape located in South Africa. Circa 1930s original etching on paper depicts traditional architecture with the mountainous landscape in the background. Hand-signed by artist and titled in pencil at the lower half of print. Presented under glass, matting, and silver-tone wooden frame. Hang ready. Frame measures 21” x 18.5” x 1.5” (WxHxD).
