Masuo Ikeda (1934-1997), a Japanese painter, printmaker, illustrator, sculptor, ceramist, novelist, and film director. In 1965, artist was the first Japanese to have a one-man show at the New York Museum of Modern Art. Works are included in permanent collections from the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
