Jules Chéret (1836-1932) was a French painter and lithographer and prolific with Belle Époque poster art, even titled “the father of the modern poster” and “father of the women’s liberation” because the work created often depicted free-spirited women. French stamp present to the lower left-hand side of the print dates piece from the late 1880s to the 1910s. “L’Infamant” lithograph poster on paper has been professionally repaired; evidence of the previous heavy wear is present with paper’s edges and creases throughout. Print is presented under glass and wooden frame. Hang ready. Frame measures 39.10” x 53.3” x 2” (WxHxD).
