Leonard Hutchinson (1896-1980), Born in England and emigrated to Canada, artist was best known as the “Social Realist of Canadian Working Class Resistance in the 1930s” with much of his work depicting life and struggles through the Great Depression. Woodblock print “Grist Mill (Doon)” was featured in “Leonard Hutchinson, People’s Artist: Ten Years of Struggle 1930 to 1940” published by Canadian Liberation Movement. Original print is numbered 34 in an edition of 50 and titled to the left-hand corner. Hand signed and signed in the print to the lower right-hand corner.
